System 3+ Motorhome Alarm
System 3+ is a Thatcham Category 2-1 Upgrade motorhome alarm (when added to a Motorhome that already has a Thatcham Category 2 engine immobiliser already fitted, this increases the approval to Category 1). It is specifically designed for Motorhomes that have what’s called “CANbus” wiring; thus is suitable for all vehicles manufactured after 2007 and several beforehand. CANbus is the method in which modern vehicles are wired. It enables the vehicles ECU to communicate with all of the electrical components inside and allows far greater diagnostic ability.
Due to the way in which motorhome securitywith CANbus wiring are designed, it is important that any alarm system fitted, is made specifically for the vehicle and contains the correct software to prevent it interfering with the ECU. Our System 3+ is the perfect choice as it automatically recognises the vehicle when fitted and operates in total harmony. It is armed and disarmed using the Motorhomes existing remote controls, so as you lock and unlock the doors, the alarm arms and disarms accordingly.
Once armed, it protects the cab doors, bonnet and habitation entrance, thus detecting any false entry and activating a 120dB battery back-up siren, which will continue to sound even if the wires to it are cut or ripped out. The switch that is fitted to the habitation door is wireless, which prevents the installer from having to run cables from the dashboard to the door, therefore there is no need for trim to be removed and then replaced.
Inside the Motorhome, ultrasonic sensors are located either side of the windscreen, to protect the windows and these can be temporarily bypassed should the alarm need to be armed whilst people or pets remain inside.
Your Motorhome Security
In the habitation area wireless technology is used again, in the form of a PIR infra red motion sensor, which can also be bypassed temporarily should the alarm need to be armed whilst people or pets remain inside.
In the event of the Motorhomes remote control/s failing, System 3+ can still be operated manually via a secret PIN code.
